3. A wedding ceremony to relive that day 50 years ago

On this same day, 50 years ago, your parents pledged their love for each other. It’s time to relive those memories. It’s great to witness as they renew their vows for you were probably missing from the family picture then.

Plan a wedding ceremony modeled on the first one. If you have a picture of their wedding cake, create a replica of the same. Hire a band for the evening. You can also organize a religious minister or priest to conduct the wedding vows. Work with a videographer and create a documentary of your parents’ life.

4. Honoring the memories they created as a couple

This can be a part of a family get-together or 50th wedding anniversary party. Create a video recording with pictures of the past. Doing so will reminisce the precious old times.

Another option while walking down memory lane is a memory book. Gather all the photographs of your parents as a young couple, of you as children, your parents with their grandchildren. The photo albums they own will hold some of the most precious memories. Try sneaking one out of their house. Create a memory book with pictures and special messages against each photograph.

You can also ask your guests to bring along anecdotes or other special memories associated with their life. Frame it and give it to them.

5. A second honeymoon

When young, holidays as a couple were impossible. The responsibilities of children tied them down. You and your siblings could chip in and organize to send them on a trip or vacation. It could be a beach vacation or a luxury cruise trip. Gift certificates of popular bed and breakfast or a restaurant also make good gifts.
