Emma Watson was virtually unknown before she was cast in the Harry Potter series. However, over the years, she has evolved as a talented and versatile actor with major films under her fold. She has been commended for her work in various movies.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress looked a vision of pure elegance at the recently inaugurated Cannes Film Festival. The 23 year old actress came to attend the premier of her upcoming film The Bling Ring by Sofia Coppola in which she plays the role of a troubled L.A. teen
The young and petite actress shared with reporters that she watched a lot of reality TV for a better understanding of the psychology of the character she was slated to play in The Bling Ring. She could do justice to the role thanks to reality television especially Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Hills.
She said, “I watched a lot of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Hills, and I tried to understand the psychology of this kind of girl as much as possible.” A professional actress who believes in giving her best to every role, she added “I didn’t want her to be just a parody. The accent was hard as it was a particular kind of dialect. I also thought a lot about what her parents much have been like.”
“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” is a family drama that follows the lives of the Kardashian clan while The Hills is an MTV show centered on the lives of Young women from Los Angeles.
The Bling Ring is based on the real life story of a group of Los Angeles teenagers consumed with famed and popularity. This gang of teenagers trail and rob celebrity homes. Emma Watson essays the role of an unsettled teen Nicki who gangs up with her companions to burgle celebrity homes like Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.
Emma Watson clears the air around the movie and says it isn’t a “Heist movie”. “It’s about how these kids wanted to pretend just for two hours or so that they were actually Paris Hilton and living that life,” she explains.
Watson looked demure in a slim fit Chanel gown at the Cannes movie premier. The dress was designed with black and white panels and a sexy cutaway back. The black bodice embellished with sequins added class to the Chanel gown. Another highlight of her look was the three ear cuffs- giving us a hint of her film.
Like we’ve already mentioned above, The Harry Potter series gave Emma her share of the spotlight. So, before the premier of her movie she did not miss a mention of it.
Speaking to reporters outside Watson said, “”Harry Potter feels like such a long time ago; so much has happened in the last three or four years, but obviously it’s still very present, it’s still being played in people’s living rooms. I’m not trying to run away from it … but it’s that I’ve had such an amazing three or four years having a chance to transform into new roles and work with new creative people.”
Directed by Sofia Coppola, The Bling Ring movie was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15. It will be released in theaters for public viewing on June 14. So, don’t miss the action.
