2. Engage in regular exercise

Exercise is a must to burn the fatty deposits sitting around the waist. It tones and firms the abdominal muscles making it appear less flabby. There is no hard and fast rule regarding the exercise one should perform to get rid of love handles. However, these are a few recommendations.

2.1 Cardiovascular Exercises:

Running, dancing, cycling, hiking, step aerobics, walking, swimming and exercising with an elliptical machine are some of the cardiovascular exercises you should perform to lose weight. If you suffer from arthritis or joint pain, stick to the last three options; they are not very strenuous. 30 minutes of cardio exercise per day should be sufficient.

2.2 Abdominal Exercises:

Abdominal exercises tone the midsection and help you shape up. You can perform crunches, upright abdominal crunches, reverse crunches, long arm crunches and incline crunches. You can also perform leg flutters, dumbbell lunges and dumbbell overhead squats.
