There are number of celeb couples due to be parents soon. And while others have not shied away from the public and media, the royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton has preferred to keep it under wraps. However, on a recent visit to Scotland Kate Middleton joked about her due date, opened up on how she plans to start knitting before the birth and of course she didn’t miss a mention of the baby names.

The official announcement of Kate’s pregnancy was made in early December when the Duchess had to be admitted to King Edward VII Hospital for acute morning sickness. At that time, we did get a photograph of Kate on the steps of the hospital with her husband William by her side. Thereafter, except for few occasional pictures with Prince Harry and William, we have not seen much of her.

However, Kate’s recent visit to the homeless center in Glasgow City Center revealed a number of details we’ve been trying to dig into for the past few months. Thanks to the Center Project Manager, Rachel Sawyer. You can learn more about it here.

The Due Date

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on a two long day visit to Scotland. The Countess of Strathearn, the title she holds in Scotland looked dapper and elegant in a short Tartan coat, a pair of black stockings and black suede boots. Kate is six months pregnant, but there was not a sight of the baby bump that we’re eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of.

Will and Kate spent almost an hour catching up on the lives of the youngsters housed at the Quarriers Stopover Project. The Stopover Project is a charity homeless center that offers accommodation and support to homeless 16-25 year olds many of whom have a history of alcohol addiction, drug abuse and other mental issues.

On enquiring about the due date Kate joked, “”It’s around mid-July but apparently babies have their own agenda…” So, folks mark your calendars and wait for what’s going to be a grand event. Rachel also asked her when she would go on maternity leave to which she answered “around June time’.

Baby Names

If you remember, only a couple of weeks ago the gender of the royal baby was widely discussed in the news circles. It was believed that the Duchess had accidentally revealed the gender of the child. However, putting all speculations to rest she denied doing so.

She confirmed it with her recent announcement that she and husband William have short listed a few baby names- both for a girl and boy. Kate also added that making a choice was indeed difficult and that she had been receiving several inputs from her friends. “My friends keep texting me names,” she said.

Knitting

At the end of the trip, Catherine was presented with a woolen hat, teddy bear and a babygro. She truly appreciated it and thanked the well wisher for the simple yet highly symbolic gifts. On being gifted the woolen presents she told 17 year old Caitlin Coffield. “I’ve been trying to knit and I’m really bad. I should be asking for tips.” She spoke about her intention to learn to knit before the arrival of her newborn.
