Eat lean meats as they are rich in proteins and low in saturated fats. Your diet should include fresh leafy vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Include foods that take longer time to digest. They keep you full for a longer period of time and prevent the urge to overeat. Avoid fried foods as they are higher in calories.
Regulating your diet does not imply cutting down your calorie intake drastically. Based on the level of activity you perform you should decide the minimum amount of calories you should consume daily. These calories can be obtained by balancing different food groups in your diet.
