This is the most offensive of the lot. Everyone’s choice is unique and no one has the right to tell you about your partner. A person who tells you this can be a real jerk, but you don’t have to be one. Make them shut up by telling them what’s different about your relationship; the goods points and those that will hint at the negatives in theirs. Call it Even-Stevens.
